Our home should be our sanctuary, a place to relax and be ourselves. But it should also be practical, accommodating and work for us too.
If your home is no longer working for you, or if you can’t use it to its potential, Rocky Bay can help. A team of trained assessors can help you discover what is available to you and what your home could be.
If you would like to stay in your current home, then Home Modifications could be for you. A home modifications assessor can match your needs to those available in the market, such as handrails, ramps, lever taps or step wedges. As well as bathroom renovations and door widening.
If you are unable to modify your home, or would prefer to live in a brand new home, ask us if you qualify for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). A qualified therapist will assess you for eligibility and help get you into a new home sooner. SDA developments currently being considered includes houses, units and apartments, so you can choose where and how you want to live. To make your house safe and accessible for you, home modifications may be required.
These can be relatively simple, such as installing handrails or ramps, or more complex changes such as widening doorways or modifying bathrooms.
You may be eligible for NDIS funding to help cover the costs involved. The entire home modification process can be a daunting experience especially if there are complex, structural changes to be made. The good news is Rocky Bay is here to help you throughout the process, from assessment and application, through to the design and build phases.
Depending on the level of complexity of the modifications you require, the entire process can be lengthy. There are many steps involved and the process is not necessarily linear. It is not uncommon for complex projects to take up to 18 months to complete. Rocky Bay’s team of Complex Home Modifications Assessors (CHMA) will support you to keep the project moving and avoid setbacks and delays where possible.
