Postural Supports focuses on the use of devices to ensure proper body position according to your unique needs, enabling you to enjoy the things you love. They can help in relieving pressure on vulnerable body parts and can reduce the risk of further injuries. The Rocky Bay Postural Support Team comprises advanced clinician physiotherapists and occupational therapists with experience in postural care. All team members have completed specialised seating training and continuously improve through professional development. We prescribe appropriate postural supports and mobility devices tailored to your individual needs and goals.
We offer a comprehensive range of postural care services, including:
Once referred. a team member will conduct a comprehensive assessment and prescribe the appropriate supports for your wants and needs. Our team work with a range of equipment including manual and power wheelchairs, and also supported lying equipment. The team also offers ongoing support for you through yearly postural reviews and 3-6 monthly touch points with you to ensure that you are getting the best out of your equipment.
Our team works with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists; but also, other stakeholders such as you and your own support network, teachers and/or employers. Good postural support solutions can only be achieved through a strong collaboration between all parties to ensure the best fit possible is found.
Often, our postural support solutions are provided in collaboration with other interventions to ensure the best outcome possible – for example, a home exercise program to help maintain your range of movement.

Postural supportis a 24-hour daily management regime that supports better anatomical alignment of a person to optimise postures, prevent postural distortions, and maximize daily functioning. It’s important because it has long-term health outcomes, is backed by substantial clinical evidence, and is widely recognised by health professionals and care recipients. Proper postural management can significantly improve a person’s quality of life and ability to participate in daily activities.
Our Postural Support Team conducts yearly postural reviews to ensure that the postural supports are meeting customers’ postural and functional needs. Additionally, they complete 3-6 monthly touch points with customers to ensure the recommended postural solutions continue to meet their needs. This regular review process helps to address any changes in the individual’s condition or requirements.
