Neurological Rehabilitation

After a life changing event, such as a stroke or spinal cord injury, it’s important to partner with a team of experienced and passionate people who will support you through what may be a long and challenging journey.

The good news is, our bodies are incredible, and we are learning everyday about what is possible using innovative techniques to tap into the neuroplasticity of our brains.

By taking a partnership approach, your Neurological Rehabilitation (Neuro Rehab) specialist will work with you, OTs, physios, speech pathologists, psychologists and fitness professionals to discover the possibilities of your individual recovery.

Together, we can determine the therapies and equipment that best suit your needs and your goals.

Rocky Bay’s Neuro Rehab team support people of all ages who experience a significant and unexpected event, such as a stroke, brain injury, spinal injury and other neurological conditions. They also support people living with conditions such as multiple sclerosis and spastic paraparesis.

Leading Technology

Rocky Bay has invested in cutting edge technology in the treatment of neuro-related injuries and conditions.

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Bikes

The FES Bike cycling system uses safe, low-current electrical pulses to help improve mobility. It activates paralysed muscles for functional movement, reduces muscle spasms, improves local circulation, facilitates muscle conditioning and maintains an individual’s range of motion. Rocky Bay has FES bikes at our Mosman Park and Mandurah hubs.

Hydrotherapy

Rocky Bay’s hydrotherapy pool, located at Mosman Park, is a calm, controlled environment specially designed for rehabilitation, general therapy and leisure activities. The pool provides a low sensory environment to build on your strength and balance, under the careful support of our neuro rehab experts.

Our Neuro Rehab team are available at our 10 hubs in the Perth metro region, the Peel region, and in Geraldton.
