21 Years of Making a Difference

At Rocky Bay, our support workers are the heart of everything we do. Each year on the 14th of August, we proudly celebrate our very own Rocky Bay Support Worker Recognition Day, a moment to shine a light on the extraordinary dedication, skill and compassion our team brings to the lives of our customers every single day.

Among them is Tim, one of our incredible long-service support workers, who has devoted the past 21 years of his career to Rocky Bay. For Tim, the role has never been “just a job” it is a calling to help others live their best lives.

“At the end of the day, how we treat people and our ability to help those around us is all that truly matters,” Tim reflects.

Tim’s approach to his work blends compassion with creativity. An avid photographer and passionate artist, he has brought his love for the arts into his role, inspiring customers to explore their own creativity. Over the years, he has run workshops that encourage experimentation with different artistic mediums, opening doors to self-expression and joy.

While helping customers discover new passions has been deeply rewarding, Tim says the relationships he has built are just as special.

“I really value the friendships I’ve formed with colleagues and customers over the years. We have an amazing group of support workers here and working closely with some of them has led to lifelong friendships. It has also been a privilege to still be supporting some customers from my very first days at Rocky Bay, seeing their journeys over time is incredibly fulfilling.”

Tim’s story reflects the commitment, empathy and heart that every Rocky Bay support worker brings to their role. We thank Tim and all our support workers for the countless ways they enrich the lives of our customers and for creating moments and memories that truly matter.
