What is the Difference Between a NDIS Planner, a NDIS Support Coordinator and a NDIS Plan Manager?

An NDIS Planner works directly for the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). Their role is to collaborate with you to identify your goals and the types of support and funding you may need to achieve them. Based on this information, they’ll help you create your NDIS plan.

Once your plan is approved, a Support Coordinator can assist you in understanding and implementing your plan, connecting you with the right services.

While Plan Managers help manage the financial side of your NDIS plan,  handling tasks like paying invoices, tracking your budget, and managing financial reporting.

Once you have a plan, a Support Coordinator can provide ongoing support with:

• Helping you understand and coordinate your supports within your plan’s budget
• Ensuring you have genuine choice and control over the service providers you engage
• Provide you with the tools to manage any issues that may occur with service delivery
• Assisting with requests for plan reviews or additional funding if your circumstances change

At the plan review stage, a Support Coordinator may support you with:

• Prepartion of gathering evidence, coordinating reports and updating goals
• Reveiwing your current supports
• Preparing you to speak with your NDIS Planner or Local Area Coordinator (LAC)

Specialist Support Coordination
