Waiting to receive therapy services can be frustrating and stressful. Demand for speech therapists has never been higher and COVID has complicated matters even more. Rocky Bay wants to help you close the gap for you and your child with six appointments to see an interim Speech Therapist while you're on the waitlist.

This exciting opportunity is for children aged 0-12 years who are currently awaiting ongoing Speech Therapy services. The clinic aims to provide individualised assessment and intervention to children currently on the Speech Pathology waitlist. The clinic runs on Wednesday mornings from 8:30am - 12pm at the Patricia Kailis Centre in Cockburn Central.

*Please note - clinics are only for current Rocky Bay customers on Speech Therapy waitlists.

Structure of Appointments

Our Scheduling Team will contact you to offer an initial appointment. This meeting is held with both the child and their primary caregiver/s. During this time, you and the Speech Therapist can discuss how you would like to utilise your six appointments at the clinic to achieve the best outcomes for your child. These appointments may involve assessments, intervention, development of strategies and/or provision of resources for home practice. Below is an example of how these appointments may be structured.

Appointments are 45 minutes in duration, unless recommended otherwise by your Speech Therapist. Please note that an additional 1 hour will be billed following administration of assessments in appointment 2 for scoring, analysis and reporting of the assessment findings. 1 hour will also be billed for resource development prior to appointment 6 if you would like a home program created for you and your child. This will be discussed with your Speech Therapist in your initial appointment.

At the end of the block, the therapist will complete a detailed report of the assessment findings, therapy outcomes and recommendations for further intervention which will be provided to you and your allocated ongoing Speech Therapist.
