Gaming Group is about learning to communicate, being self-aware, controlling your emotions and planning with others, using Minecraft™.
Minecraft provides a fun environment where children are encouraged to participate in social interactions using the game. Gaming Group gives children the opportunity to understand the logic behind why people are expected to act a certain way in the game. The aim of this therapy group is to aid children to apply this logic to real-world situations, as well as:
- Improve their ability to collaborate and solve problems with others
- Adapt to situational changes and expectations
- Improve social communication skills
- Build on their strengths and interests
- Foster positive social interaction with peers.
Sessions are facilitated by a qualified therapist who supports the participants to develop and practise skills such as:

- Organisation
- Attention
- Self-regulation
