Rocky Bay’s Mandurah Hub recently welcomed Mayur Joshi in the role of Advanced Clinician Physiotherapist, where he made the move all the way from Tasmania to Perth.

This near 3000km relocation was made possible with help and efforts of Rocky Bay Recruitment Officer Mark Fellowes and Clinical Operations Manager Erin Pinnock.

As part of his role as Recruitment Officer Mark initiated contact with Mayur through LinkedIn, sending a direct message and providing comprehensive details about the job.

After receiving messages of interest back from Mayur, Mark continued his correspondence with him, guiding him through the application process.

This proactive approach from Mark ensured Mayur felt supported and informed throughout his decision-making process, despite being based in another state.

Mark’s commitment to this proactive and continued communication paid off, with Mayur accepting the offer after a few months of correspondence.

However, upon acceptance of the offer, the team encountered the challenge of securing accommodation in Perth’s competitive housing market before Mayur could come to Perth.

Mark and Clinical Operations Manager Erin, who was to be Mayur’s Manager, stepped in, attending rental inspections on Mayur’s behalf, and assisting with applications.

This additional help ultimately secured him and his family a suitable residence within a close distance to the Mandurah Hub.

Attending rental inspections was certainly not on Erin and Marks job responsibilities and exemplifies how they both went the extra mile for a new team member.

While Mayur decision to relocate from Tasmania to Perth was motivated by the city’s climate and its proximity to family nearby in India, the welcoming atmosphere fostered by the Rocky Bay team ensured him he had made the correct choice.

Accompanied by his wife and young son, Mayur made the journey to Perth from Tasmania with confidence, knowing he had the support of his new colleagues.

Reflecting on his experience, Mayur expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the Rocky Bay team.

He felt fully supported from the outset, particularly highlighting Erin’s welcome, and the inclusive atmosphere within the Mandurah hub.

Choosing to move jobs, and when it involves moving locations, can be a challenging experience but Rocky Bay’s successful recruitment of Mayur reflects our supportive work environment and ability to go above and beyond.

Mark, Erin, and the entire Mandurah team exemplify Rocky Bay’s dedication to ensuring the best possible experience with for our staff, right from the get-go.
