If you or your child requires the assistance of others when moving or use equipment to help you get around, you could benefit from an Individual Transfer and Mobility Plan.
Our Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists will complete a risk assessment to identify any safety risks involved when completing transfers. Based on the assessment, they will provide you with an Individual Transfer and Mobility Plan (ITMP) which outlines the safest ways for others to support your movement and transfers.
The plan is helpful for support staff and family members as they have clear guidelines in place to ensure they are supporting you correctly.
Therapists also check equipment such as slings and hoists to make sure they are in good working order. They will recommend replacement of any equipment which is not functioning correctly or could be hazardous.
