Disability Safe Transport
You may like to consider a safe transport assessment, if you or your child:
- have limited mobility
- use a wheelchair to get around (particularly if you use it during vehicle transit)
- use customised postural seating and/or
- have any physical or behavioural factors which might affect your safety or the safety of others during motor vehicle transportation.
Our Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in Perth will complete a risk assessment to identify and address any safety risks involved when travelling in private motor vehicles such as cars, vans, modified vehicles or school bus.
Based on the assessment, they will provide you with a transport plan which provides detailed recommendations and methods of minimising risks during transportation. It will outline, with photographs, the most appropriate and safest way for others to support you during transportation.
