Maintaining fitness is an integral part in maximising physical function for people living with a disability. The fitness program at Rocky Bay aims to increase your participation in fitness activities, as well as promoting your physical strength and capability to be more mobile and independent.
A Fitness Officer will work closely with you alongside our therapists to develop, customise, implement and modify programs to suit your individual goals.
The individual sessions can take place in our therapy gym using specialised equipment, or at a local gym, park, or recreation centre if that is more convenient for you. We can also research and liaise with suitable avenues and programs in the community to enable integration of your exercise routines into your daily life.
As well as providing direct support to people living with disability, the Fitness Officer can provide training and information to parents, carers and local personal trainers to ensure exercise routines can be maintained in the long term.
