Rapping up the holidays – Brianna’s story

Brianna is a 15 year old who loves the stage!

Brianna lives with autism and on most school holidays attends a camp with other children living with disability.  When the camp was cancelled for October holidays in 2013, Brianna’s mum Penny wasn’t quite sure what would replace it. When some information was provided by Rocky Bay about Scripture Union Performing Arts Camp, Penny thought it was worth a try.  After some liaison with the camp Team Leader, Brianna was signed up for camp with a bit of extra leader support available whenever it was needed.

Brianna went along to Performing Arts camp and had a ball!

The camp had a build up to a concert on the last night, where Brianna performed a rap she had written and rehearsed throughout the camp, with others- she can still recite it today.

Brianna had a great time on camp and can’t wait to go again next year!

Penny is keen for Brianna to go on Scripture Union holiday camps again, knowing that it is will be a supportive environment and that Brianna will have a great time!
