Danny has been a busy bee!
Not only is he enjoying an independent lifestyle in his new home, he has also become heavily involved with two interesting projects at DADAA – a not for profit programme that aims to create significant positive social change and opportunities for people living with disability and disadvantage in WA.
We are thrilled to see Danny’s creativity flourishing since he moved into Rocky Bay’s independent living units late last year.
Band – Loose Tooth
Loose Tooth is a “vibrant community music programme” where members create a big band sound using instruments and percussion. They meet on Tuesday nights and produce their own scores, hold performances and attend recording sessions.
This year, there are plans to collaborate with a UK Dance group, SPIRAL to create online performances, achieving global reach and connections.

Digital Dialogues with stARTSPEAK
Danny is also one of ten performers invited to participate in the Digital Dialogues Project, an initiative led by people with disability.
This project offers digital technology to performers to create their own stories and publish on a range of platforms, promoting digital inclusion for people with disability.
The programme is run twice a week for forty weeks as a partnership between DADAA, Hydra Poesis (Hydra) and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Arts (CIA), supported by a DSC Community Inclusion and Participation grant.
It is believed the project will have long term positive benefits for people living with disability, arts training organisations, community development (physical and online) digital and technology development.
The participants record new works every week. Watch Danny’s first performance piece:
