Six fathers of young people with disabilities participated in a free, half-day barbecue masterclass at Urban Griller in O’Connor in May 2014.
Chris from Urban Griller demonstrated the art of cooking the perfect steak, as well as how to cook salmon, pizza, proscuitto wrapped prawns and desserts on the barbecue.
The interactive class supported the dads from the Cockburn area to not only refine their barbecue skills, but to also network with each other and have a break from their caring roles.
The carers event, now in its second year, was again supported by Rocky Bay and Cockburn-Kwinana Local Area Coordination. Two Local Area Coordinators also attended the event and helped to introduce and connect the dads.
Cockburn-Kwinana LAC appreciates Rocky Bay’s generous contribution which helped to make the day possible.
