In October, Rocky Bay and Shift Accessible Homes opened two brand new Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) developments in Yangebup and East Victoria Park, ready to provide a new level of comfort and accessibility for our customers.

Once fully occupied, the sites will provide state-of-the-art accommodation for 17 customers across seven homes, with a mixture of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units catering to the preferences of the residents. Each home also caters to the needs of carers, with office facilities adjourning the living areas, providing interconnection between units.

At the opening event of the Yangebup development, Mayor of the City of Cockburn Logan Howlett JP opened the homes with the help of Rocky Bay and Shift board members, as well as our customers who will be residing there. Guests enjoyed a tour of the development, which features advanced technology throughout, from security, safety systems and climate control, through to height adjustable tables and bench tops.

In East Victoria Park, guests enjoyed a coffee and grazing table of delights while chatting to our customers who are already enjoying their new homes. Long-time Rocky Bay resident, Malcolm Burgess, said of his new abode, “It’s even better than I expected.”

The development was officially opened by the CEO of the Town of Victoria Park, Mr Anthony Vuleta, who welcomed the residents to the town and outlined the many amenities they can now enjoy in and around the town.

The East Victoria Park development was built as a joint venture between Shift and Celsius Property Group. Celsius CEO Richard Pappas spoke of the harmonious working relationship between all parties during a difficult time for the building industry and saved a special thanks to the Town of Victoria Park for their collaborative approach, ensuring the best possible outcomes for their newest residents.

The two developments are the first in a series of similar projects under construction by Shift, with properties in Gosnells and Pearsall the next to open, in 2023.
