Autism Assessments

If you suspect that your child may have Autism, a formal diagnosis is required in order to get the support you need. The process can be lengthy and complicated, so the Rocky Bay team of staff and therapists have combined with psychologists to make the process as seamless as possible, helping you avoid the wait times for State funded assessments.

The assessment will take place on a single day in the comfortable and kid-friendly Lady Lawley Cottage in Cottesloe*, Rocky Bay’s only dedicated paediatric hub. A team of clinicians will conduct the assessment and provide you with a written report and a face-to-face discussion about the diagnosis. This document, once a diagnosis is confirmed by a paediatrician, can be used to apply for NDIS funded services.

Assessment are available for children aged 3 to 17 years if they have obtained a referral from a GP or Paediatrician and have not been previously assessed for autism.

There are a number of steps required to get to a full diagnosis,  scroll down to see how it works and to read through our FAQ’s.

* In complex cases, clinicians may also need to attend the child’s school or childcare setting.
