Options to suit different needs

We offer a range of flexible respite options designed to support different needs, interests and stages of life. This includes Day Respite, as well as working closely with families to create tailored weekend experiences where possible. These experiences may be shaped around age ranges, shared interests or themes – such as a girls’ weekend, and are developed in discussion with families, subject to availability and suitability. This approach allows respite to feel purposeful, age‑appropriate and aligned with what matters to each young person.

Actively supporting children and young people

Our Youth Respite team is trained in the National Principles for Child Safety, developed by the Australian Human Rights Commission. We also focus on helping young people stay involved in everyday activities and experiences. This means looking for opportunities for engagement throughout the day, offering the right level of support at the right time, and supporting choice and independence wherever possible. By encouraging participation in small, regular ways (“little and often”), our team can tailor support to each young person’s abilities and interests, while keeping it respectful, encouraging and safe.

Are there any other options? My child prefers their own space

That’s completely understandable. We know that some young people value their privacy and feel more comfortable with their own space. If shared accommodation isn’t the right fit, we also have other accommodation options onsite that may be more suitable. These options offer greater privacy while maintaining the same high standards of accessibility, support and safety. We’d be happy to discuss the best option for your young person.
