About the course

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Rocky Bay delivers this course in partnership with ALP Group RTO 3586.

Previously known as Senior First Aid, this course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, including in the home, workplace or within the community, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Course content:

• Basic Life Support (DRSABCD)
• CPR and AED
• Shock Management
• Airway Management – Asthma, Choking, Severe Allergic Reaction, Hyperventilation
• Cardiac Emergencies
• Bleeding and Wound Care
• Burns and Scalds
• Extremes of Heat and Cold
• Musculoskeletal Injuries
• Altered Conscious States
• Poisons Bites and Stings

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

Current industry standards state this course must be updated every 3 years.
Hours: 8 hrs
