Sherylee celebrates a milestone
Sherylee, one of our supported accommodation residents, recently celebrated her 60th birthday with a party to remember!
Held at a nearby park under a Coolabah tree, Sherylee was joined by her friends and housemates, all excited to share in the celebrations. The day began with a traditional greeting by Lead Disability Support Worker, Jules Bowyer.
After tucking into some delicious food, the group were treated to an amazing performance by the Wadumbah Aboriginal Dance Group, who also sang Happy Birthday to Sherylee in Noongar.
Sherylee and her friends had an amazing day for her 60th celebrations and the Rocky Bay team were so happy to be able to help make it so very special for her.
Clarrie’s first concert experience
Clarence ‘Clarrie’ Miller celebrated his birthday a little early this month, dancing the night away at RnB Fridays on 8 November – his first ever concert!
Clarrie, one of Rocky Bay’s supported accommodation residents, spent the entire day and night at NIB Stadium grooving to the sounds of the Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson, Jason Derulo and his favourite rapper, Fifty Cent, who he was most excited to see.
The amazing weather and excitable crowd made for a great atmosphere, with Clarrie just wanting to party all night.
Thanks to his amazing experience, Clarrie has found a new activity he loves and has a goal to work toward. Our team of disability support workers have now begun to work with Clarrie to plan future concert and festival experiences, with Clarrie already hoping for a return to RnB Fridays next year.
