One of our adventurous customers, Pauline, recently had an incredible experience she won’t soon forget!
Described by Rocky Bay Disability Support Worker, Kerry Brindle, as a daredevil at heart, Pauline tackled her first indoor skydiving experience at iFLY – an accessible experience for people of all abilities.
Prior to the big day, Pauline and Kerry visited iFLY to see how it worked and make sure Pauline was comfortable with the experience. Needless to say, Pauline was more than excited to go ahead with the experience.
When the big day arrived, Pauline suited-up in her flying gear, complete with helmet and safety goggles and took part in a safety briefing, with iFLY staff explaining exactly what would happen and how she would be supported prior to entering the flight tunnel. She also had two qualified instructors support her during her flight.
Pauline had an absolute ball, waving to Kerry on the other side of the glass flight tunnel and wasn’t one bit nervous. One of the instructors took hold of Pauline and flew to the top of the flight tunnel spinning around in circles.
“I was in awe of this amazing woman who has no fear and is ready to take on any challenge,” Kerry said.
Days after her experience Pauline was still excitedly sharing it with everyone, grabbing her cheeks to show people what her face looked like in the tunnel and stretching out her arms and legs to show what she was asked to do while flying.
Kerry is now working with Pauline to decide what her next adventure will be and we can’t wait to see what she has in store.
