Jess Dickinson is one of Rocky Bay’s resident Senior Speech Pathologists. Speech pathologists diagnose and treat communication disorders, such as difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading and writing, social skills, stuttering, and even people who experience difficulties with swallowing food and drink safely.
Jess graduated from Curtin University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science – Speech Pathology, and worked as a speech pathologist for nearly five years in inpatient and outpatient care at hospitals in Perth and Singapore before joining Rocky Bay. Jess has also completed Rocky Bay’s Emerging Leaders Program and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
With such an impressive healthcare background, Jess’s strengths lie in the assessment of and intervention for acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

How long have you worked with Rocky Bay?
I started working as a speech pathologist at Rocky Bay in September 2015.
What do you love most about your field of work?
I love that in my role I can work within a team to support our customers to meet their goals and increase their community participation and quality of life.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to cook, exercise regularly and spend time with family and friends.
What are three things you can’t live without and why?
- My husband, family and friends are very important to me
- Regular breaks travelling overseas
- Visiting wineries and eating nice food
