Generous donation supports our customers

Thanks to the generosity of Prendiville Catholic College, Rocky Bay are able to offer teletherapy to even more customers who may not have the required technology.

Prendiville Catholic College Business Manager, Terry Raphael, approached Rocky Bay Occupational Therapist, Ally Raphael (pictured right, with Rocky Bay’s Clinical General Manager, Michelle Dillon and Terry), on behalf of the College with a donation offer of two Apple Mac desktop computers and two Apple Macbooks.

Rocky Bay’s Clinical team decided the donations of the desktop and laptop computers will be best utilised by loaning them to supported accommodation homes to help support customers who don’t have access to a computer, enabling them to access teletherapy and other support services.

Rocky Bay Allied Health Team Leader, Helen Wauchope, says the donation has come at such a fitting time for Rocky Bay and its customers.

“During COVID-19, we have all had to change the way we communicate with each other. For some of us, online is the only way to keep in touch with the outside world” explains Helen.

“Therapy has been providing services via teletherapy for those customer unable to come to our Hubs.”

With the coronavirus changing how we are all living and working, Rocky Bay has had to quickly adapt to new ways of offering out services, and one of those ways is providing more teletherapy sessions for customers which has proved a success.
