Christmas Family Fun Day wrap-up!

Over 550 customers, their families and staff came together to celebrate a day of festive fun in the sun at Rocky Bay’s annual Christmas Family Fun Day last Saturday.

The highly-anticipated event, held in the beautiful gardens at Rocky Bay’s Mosman Park Hub, was the second hosted by Rocky Bay, which has become a highlight in the calendar amongst customers and their families.

The afternoon included a sausage sizzle lunch, ice-cream van and fairy floss station, as well as variety of activities and entertainment for families of all abilities, including a petting zoo, face painting and garden games.

Musical entertainment on the day included singer-songwriter, Jaye Yates, who has been entertaining Perth audiences for over 25 years, and the Corpus Christi Choir delighted guests with a selection of festive Christmas carols.

The Studio held a market stall, selling Christmas decorations, cards, pottery and artwork created by customers, with all proceeds from sales going back into the Studio to support various artistic groups.

One lucky attendee also won themselves a family ferry day pass to Rottnest Island, thanks to a generous donation from Sealink.

The festive spirit of the event culminated in a special visit from Santa Claus, with presents in tow for Rocky Bay’s customers.

Rocky Bay CEO, Michael Tait, said it was incredibly heart-warming to witness such a large turnout at this year’s event.

“The annual Christmas Family Fun Day provides the perfect opportunity for customers, their families and our staff to come together and celebrate the year that was,” Mr Tait said.

“Our Rocky Bay community is truly unique and I am extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work for an organisation that allows me to meet such determined and inspirational people on a daily basis.

“While we are always looking to the future for ways we can support our customers to reach their goals, it is important we also take the time to appreciate everything our customers have achieved and provide them with an opportunity to enjoy, relax and have fun with their friends and loved ones.”

Rocky Bay would like to extend a special thank you to the students from Iona Presentation College who volunteered their time to help make the day a resounding success!
