Rocky Bay is excited to announce that after a rigorous selection process, it has been chosen as the new service provider for Lady Lawley Cottage in Cottesloe.

Rocky Bay signed a contract with the Australian Red Cross earlier this month, and will undertake minor works to refresh the site early in 2023.

“This is a great outcome for children with disabilities, their parents and carers, and the community,” said Australian Red Cross WA Director, Craig Stewart.

Rocky Bay CEO Michael Tait said, ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for Rocky Bay. Our vision is to transform Lady Lawley Cottage into a vibrant hub for child and adolescent services for the Western Australian community.’

‘We want to continue to build on the strong legacy set by Lady Lawley Cottage and the Australian Red Cross, to provide a brighter future for children and young people living with a disability in WA,’ Mr Tait said.

We will seek to leverage the strength of our highly successful early intervention and child therapy services to build on Lady Lawley Cottage’s strong legacy of supporting children and young people from across Western Australia. To achieve this, we will transition some of our paediatric services to Lady Lawley Cottage in April 2023.

To help us develop future services at the site, Rocky Bay will be launching a consultation process in the new year. Amongst a range of discussion points the consultation will cover respite services for children and young people.

We know that a range of respite services of are greatly needed. The consultation will make sure we truly understand the needs of the families wanting to access this service and to help us develop a service that is relevant and sustainable for the long term. We are very aware that one size fits all approach isn’t suitable in this space, and it is likely a range of options will need to be developed.

More information about consultation activities will be released in the new year. However, if you would like to pre-register your involvement, please complete this form.

We are looking forward to giving Lady Lawley Cottage a fresh start and to build a brighter future for children and young people living with disability.
