ANZAC Day will be remembered on Saturday 25 April. With all commemoration events cancelled due to COVID-19, the community are coming up with brilliant ways of remembering this important day at home.
A great way you could commemorate ANZAC Day at home is to stand at the end of your driveway, or on your balcony, at 6am with a candle, to honour all of those who served and died in wars.
One of the ways Rocky Bay will be remembering ANZAC Day is by delivering ANZAC biscuit and muffin recipes and ingredients to customers and staff across our supported accommodation homes and hubs.
On Friday 24 April, a classic recipe and its ingredients for cookies will be delivered to Rocky Bay’s Hubs. A separate recipe and ingredients for muffins will be delivered to supported accommodation homes, and customers will be invited to bake a batch of muffins in honour of all those who served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Rocky Bay CEO, Michael Tait, says with a society in isolation, it has never been a more important time to maintain morale and stay in touch with those we care for.
“Since the coronavirus began, we have devised a variety of ways to stay engaged with customers and give them interactive, fulfilling experiences.”
“Fun is the focus of these initiatives and this one is no exception. Our customers are being encouraged to wear as much flour as possible, and the best photographs will be posted on our website and across socialmedia.”
