Our refurbished disability equipment products are high quality, come with a six month warranty and can save you up to 50% on the recommended retail price.

Our approach

We provide high quality mobility and personal care equipment at a lower cost and often with a quicker turnaround than purchasing items brand new.  Community Refurbished Equipment is the first place you should look for any of your equipment needs.

If you or someone in your family has a physical impairment that affects independence at home or in the community, you may need to purchase equipment – eg. wheelchairs or shower chairs.  New equipment can be very expensive and as you age, or your physical condition changes, your equipment may need replacing.  At Rocky Bay, we take quality discarded equipment and refurbish the items to a very high standard.  These are sold at a lower cost than the brand new equivalent, helping budgets stretch further.

Our spacious warehouse, located at Bibra Lake, contains a huge range of equipment suitable for children, adults and seniors with a range of physical needs:

  • Mobility devices – eg. walking frames, manual and power wheelchairs
  • Personal care items – eg. shower chairs, commodes
  • Positioning and seating equipment – eg. standing frames, alternative positioning equipment, buggies and seating systems
  • Daily living items – eg. height adjustable tables
  • Transfer aids – eg. hoists

Who is eligible?

Any individual requiring equipment to assist with independence can contact Community Refurbished Equipment.

If you have a therapist who supports you, you must work with them to identify what you require.  Your primary therapist will contact us on your behalf to check availability of the appropriate equipment.

Donating equipment

We accept some equipment as donations, but only where they are of good quality and fairly new in age in the following categories:

  • Mobility devices – eg. walking frames, manual and power wheelchairs
  • Personal care items – eg. shower chairs, commodes
  • Positioning and seating equipment – eg. standing frames, alternative positioning equipment, buggies and seating systems
  • Daily living items – eg. height adjustable tables
  • Transfer aids – eg. hoists, transfer boards

Please send an enquiry if you wish to offer equipment for donation.  We will require details of the item including its age and condition, along with a photo and we will contact you to confirm if we are happy to accept the item for refurbishment.

Equipment we do not accept

Any item that is not within the categories listed above is not accepted, and we also factor in the age and condition of equipment before accepting.

Who else accepts discarded equipment?

If the item is in working order, complete and easy to sterilise, you could contact Technical Aids for Disabilities WA (TADWA) on (08) 9379 7400, who may be interested in receiving the item.

TADWA may collect the equipment from your house. They may also accept old computers.

What if it is broken or worn out?

If the item is broken or unsuitable to be re-used, check with your local council to see if they will accept it at the tip.

Some items might need to be disposed of in a particular way, for example batteries. Your local council can advise you of this.
