We can assist you to find the right technology, whether you are looking for something simple such as tap turners or jar openers, or devices to help you to control lighting, heating, security, computers, games and electrical appliances.

Assessing your needs
Before we can prescribe or recommend appropriate technology devices, we need to understand your individual needs and preferences, and the goals that you want to achieve. This may involve a telephone conversation or face to face discussion or more detailed assessments such as physical checks to look at your current abilities, taking measurements such as joint ranges, and looking
at the environments in which you might use the equipment/technology.
Assessments are conducted by qualified and experienced therapists. They can be carried out in our Assistive Technology clinic rooms or in your home, school or workplace as required.
Finding your solutions
Not only can we assist you to explore new technology, we can also support you with setting up and configuring technology specific to your needs and look at ways to integrate it with other equipment in your home.
If your needs change, we can provide ongoing support to ensure that your technology continues to work for you. Training can be provided for yourself and others who may support you and we will work with your therapist, support worker or family to help you achieve your goals.
There’s an ‘app’ for that
It seems that each day there is a new tablet or smart phone application (app) released to provide you with useful information or make every day living easier. These can benefit everyone but are particularly helpful if you have movement difficulties or visual/hearing loss.

You can access our services if you have a WA NDIS or NDIS plan, Disability Services Commission funding, Better Start funding, Medicare or if you want to fund your own services. We can also support you through the planning process if you do not have a plan already.
