Available Services for JobSeekers
Career Information
You can view the career reference information at our Open Access Centre located in our East Perth office. This information is available in several formats: written career reference guides and job choice brochures or use the interactive software loaded on to our computers
Work Preparation
Rocky Bay Employment Services matches each Job Seeker to one of our experienced staff. This ensures that work preparation is customised. In addition to this personalised service, job seekers can use the Open Access Centre to:
- Write a resume
- Read the employment sections in WA newspapers
- Contact employers directly by phone
- Practice typing skills
- Develop phone skills
- Review information on training courses
Customised Services
Incude assistance with the following:
- Practicing interview Skills
- Completing interview forms in response to advertised jobs
- Developing office skills (courses are run either 1:1 or in a group)
- Developing computer skills (courses are run either 1:1 or in a group)
- Developing job search skills (courses are run either 1:1 or in a group)
- Receiving on-job training and support at an employer worksite (work sampling) to develop real work skills and gain references.
Job Search
Rocky Bay Employment Services will assist each job seeker by:
- Developing a contact list of companies to be contacted based on your job preferences
- Working with you to contact employers on your behalf
- Accessing our detailed database that lists over 4000 employers updated monthly
Training & Support
Your Monitoring and Support Officer will:- Provide you with assistance to learn jobs or tasks.
- Assist you in redesigning a task or your position to better suit your skills and abilities
- Assist you to learn the social skills required for the position

Give you regular feedback about your employment
Provide physical support if you have a significant disability
Facilitate your inclusion into the work site

Ensure you receive a copy of your duty statement
Identify workplace modifications that will improve your performance and increase your independence
Rocky Bay Employment Services can apply for funds to modify the work site (if required and as assessed by an Occupational Therapist)
Co-workers & management
Incude assistance with the following:
- Rocky Bay Employment Services Provides training to co-workers and management and has detailed information on various disabilities, producing several introductory manuals for the lay person.
Personal Care
Individualised personal care may be provided to those who require assistance
Case Management
Incude assistance with the following:
- All Rocky Bay Employment Services clients receive a co-ordinated approach to service delivery
- Your Monitoring and Support Officer or Case Manager can assist you with referrals to other agencies should you require assistance with non-employment related issues (e.g. accommodation, budgeting, community access).
- Rocky Bay Employment Services can assist with career development, i.e. Workers are assisted to develop their skills for promotion or change in career direction.
Transport
Incude assistance with the following:
- Transport may be provided where no other service can be utilised. This can be either in an ordinary vehicle or one modified with an hydraulic hoist. Participants will be charged a fee based on the kilometres travelled.
- Individuals can be assisted with transport training and using a transport timetable
- Assistance with application for Mobility Allowance through Centrelink
Employees and Employers
Rocky Bay Employment Services will assist both employees and employers to:
- Develop and lodge a workplace agreement
- Develop a duty statement
- Agree upon working conditions
