Southern Respite Service

Southern Respite Service is a residential 24 hour respite service consisting of two purpose built homes within the suburb of Beeliar. The service aims to assist adults with disabilities remain in a homelike environment by offering ,  appropriate respite care, incorporating activities and promoting independence for the client away from their family home.  This also provides an opportunity for parents/primary care givers to have a break .

• The service is available to adults with disabilities living with their parents in the south metropolitan area.
• An assessment is conducted with the prospective client and their family which is used to determine the appropriate service provision.
• Southern Respite Service provides 24 hour care but is not resourced to provide support for ongoing work and community access commitments.  Alternate activities are programmed for clients accessing the service. 
• Clients are able to be booked in for varying periods of up to two weeks per year.  This is dependent on the availability of beds and the compatibility of shared client interests.
• All staff are trained in working with people with disabilities and are committed in providing a home away from home.
• A service charge is applicable.
