The Posture Management for Neuromuscular Conditions document was redeveloped in 2001 with contributions from all therapists at Rocky Bay. The document looks at the specific postural needs of clients with a neuromuscular condition. Despite the title the manual also looks at equipment supporting standing and sleep time positioning as well. A multi disciplinary approach to managing posture is encouraged and the manual serves as a guide to therapists, families and significant others.

Given most clients with a neuromuscular condition will use a wheelchair at some stage in their life, this manual serves as a valuable resource for therapists, families, clients , new staff and students. Information on the reasoning, clinical indicators and rationale for the use of different types of cushions, back rests, head rests, arm rests, types of wheelchairs, pressure care systems, standing frames and sleep positioning equipment is provided. The manual is not a static resource and is continuing to be developed as trends in equipment change.
