This morning the Minister for Disability Services, the Hon. Margaret M. Quirk MLA, presented the Rocky Bay Adult Services team with the Certificate of Achievement award at the Disability Services Standards Achievement Awards presentations. This was the highest accolade given at a ceremony which presented six awards in total to the sector.
The award was presented to the Adult Therapy Services team based on a series of reports conducted last year. The department had excelled in every area and, as Barry MacKinnon, Chairman of the Disability Services Commission, announced in his speech, the staff tackled the difficult issues particularly well and were not afraid of challenges and robust feedback but genuinely cherished both as methods to perpetuate improvement in the services provided.
The team was ably represented by James Parish, Amanda Halfpenny, Nita Vorster and Faye Broadhurst. The Client Services team obviously worked hard and displayed a professionalism which has enabled Rocky Bay to not only receive such a prestigious award but also ensures high quality of service to our client base. As was suggested on acceptance of this award it is very important that the team's tireless and passionate leader, Linda Chiu, is acknowledged, her inclusive and driven style has ensured the quality of the programs provided.
Congratulations to the whole Clinical Services team who shared in this award as the team could not operate if not for the support and professionalism of all the team members.
