Rocky Bay’s annual Model of the Future gala event was held on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July in the Wesley College school auditorium. Model of the Future, supported by Appealathon, is a fundraising event for Rocky Bay which, in its 17th year, has raised in excess of $370,000 to help optimise the quality of life for people living with disabilities. Previous winners have gone on to achieve successful local and international modelling careers. The junior model grand finalists presented a matinee show and wowed the audience in their brightly coloured outfits and well choreographed routines. The audience were also entertained with a performance by Metro Elite performers led by Danielle Gorczynski and Ashley Boylan who donated their time to choreograph both the junior and senior Model of the Future grand final shows. These young models aged 13-21 years put on an exceptional show that oozed professionalism and showed the audience what fantastic talent Perth has to offer in the modelling industry. The audience was also entertained by 18 year old singer-songwriter Vee who shot to fame with her debut YouTube video single “Summer” and who was a former Model of the Future grand finalist for Rocky Bay.
