
Michael Tait - CEO | Michael is Chief Executive Officer of Rocky Bay, a leading disability service provider in WA with a proud 70 year history. Employing over 500 staff and volunteers, Rocky Bay provides a range of services and support to 1000 children (and their families) and over 500 adults living with disabilities in the Perth metropolitan area. Services are offered to individuals and families within the home and in the community, focusing on individual needs and supporting families and primary carers and includes accommodation, respite, employment and therapy services. |
Michael has spent over 20 years in senior management positions within the health, hospitality, property development and disability sectors. During this time he has operated in Polynesia, Indonesia, Australia, UK and Europe. Since joining the sector 3 years ago, Michael has been actively involved with representation on several committees and project groups. He was recently elected Deputy Chair for the NDS WA State Committee and is a member of the NDS governance and workforce planning subcommittees and currently chairs the NDS Children and Youth subcommittee and sits on the national committee for children and youth. Michael is also a member of the DSC CEO Round Table. Rocky Bay is a founding member of Ability First Australia, an association of Australia's original "Crippled Childrens Associations" and as a member CEO, Michael sits on the Board and is therefore involved and engaged in many national disability issues. |
 Mervyn Williams - Director Finance | Mervyn commenced at Rocky Bay in 1993 as Finance Manager. Prior to this date he worked in Chartered Accounting and commercial organisations for almost 25 years. Over the past few years Rocky Bay has tripled in size and has started the process of establishing itself of one of the leading Disability service provider in WA. As Director of Finance, Mervyn has participated in numerous industry committees and is currently on the Finance Advisory Sub committee of NDS. |
 Frances Buchanan - Director Client Services | Frances commenced with Rocky Bay in 2002 as Manager of the Gebabout program, now holding the position of Director of Client Services. Frances commenced her career as an Occupational Therapist and also holds tertiary qualifications in French Language and Business Administration. She has over 20 years experience in the human services field, having worked in Europe and South East Asia as well as around Australia. Client Services at Rocky Bay incorporates accommodation, respite, recreational support services, and the volunteers program. |

Betty Cottrell - Director Marketing | Betty has been with Rocky Bay for a total of nine years commencing as the Fundraising Manager and now holds the position of Director Marketing. Betty's background is in the tourism and travel industry where she was the National Sales Development Manager for Ansett Australia. She also served on the Board of the "Make A Wish Foundation". |
 Linda Chiu - Director Clinical Services | Formerly a senior physiotherapist with Disability Services Commission, Linda started at Rocky Bay in June 1999 as Manager Clinical Services and in 2007 became Director Clinical Services. Clinical Services offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, social work, specialist postural management, technical services and hydrotherapy to approximately 1000 children and 500 adults with disabilities. |
 Wendy Tapper - Director Human Resources | Wendy commenced work at Rocky Bay in June 2007 as Human Resources Coordinator and in May 2008 was appointed Director Human Resources (HR). The HR & Training team provides services to all staff, in areas such as OSH, employee benefits and workers compensation. They have introduced staff loyalty awards, reward and recognition awards, executive awards, corporate uniforms, the wellness program and increased opportunities for salary packaging benefits. Training is provided for all Rocky Bay staff and is now also available to other Disability Sector members. |
Tony Waters - Director Employment Services | Tony joined the team at Rocky Bay in 2007 as Director Employment Services. Employment Services is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to provide disability employment services to clients with a disability who are seeking employment opportunities in the open labour market. |
